After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management at Deusto University and with a Master’s degree in Development Strategy and Globalisation (University of the Basque Country), Oihana started her career in Germany and has worked for multinational companies such as DuPont and SEAT (VW consortium). In 2008 began her experience as competitiveness and innovation consultant and since 2014 she is part of the business promotion team of Bilbao Ekintza, the economic development agency of Bilbao City Council. She has led and participated in EU-funded projects on topics such as entrepreneurship, innovation, economic clusters and smart specialisation among others. She was part of the team of the City of Bilbao in the UIA project AS FABRIK, an alliance for smart specialisation in advanced services towards the digital transformation of the Basque industry and the Lead Partner of its continuation AS TRANSFER (URBACT). She was also the coordinator as Lead Partner in the URBACT Action Planning Network IN FOCUS.
